Nagpur: A tragic accident claimed the life of a 9-year-old girl, Mahira Ashfaq Shaikh, under the jurisdiction of Mankapur Police Station here, on Wednesday, April 16

According to sources, a Xylo vehicle reportedly experienced a technical failure in its steering mechanism, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off the road and rammed into the nearby slum area, running over the minor girl. Mahira sustained critical injuries in the incident.

Family members rushed her to a private hospital immediately, but doctors declared her brought dead.

Upon receiving information, Mankapur police reached the spot and apprehended the driver. A forensic team also arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation.

Tension prevailed in the locality following the accident. Mankapur police are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident and are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any unrest.
