Nagpur: In a commendable operation, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Crime Branch traced and rescued two teenage girls who had gone missing from the Kapil Nagar area on February 11.
According to police sources, the 14-year-old girl and her 16-year-old friend had gone to the Khasala Market in Kapil Nagar but failed to return home. A complaint was registered at Kapil Nagar Police Station under Section 137(2) of the BNS, suspecting abduction by unidentified individuals.
Acting swiftly on credible information and technical inputs, the AHTU team launched a search operation around Nagpur Railway Station. The two girls, along with two boys, were located and taken into custody. Following detailed interrogation and counseling, all four were handed over to Kapil Nagar Police for further proceedings.
This successful rescue was carried out under the leadership of Police Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime) Abhijeet Patil, by PI Lalita Todase and her team, including Gajendrasingh Thakur, Ram Nirgudwar, Rishikesh Dumre, Vilas Chinchulkar, Naresh Shingne, Ashwini Khodpewar, and Pallavi Wanjari.
