Nagpur: Panic gripped the Ambazari area in the early hours of Tuesday, April 15, after unidentified assailants gunned down Avinash Raju Bhusari (28), the owner of Sosha Café. The fatal shooting occurred around 1.20 am to 1.30 am, sending shockwaves through the local hospitality community.
According to police sources, Avinash was seated near the café with Aditya, the manager of Nimbus Café, and the duo was enjoying an ice gola when two bike-borne miscreants arrived at the spot. One of the accused reportedly opened fire at point-blank range, fatally injuring Avinash. The attackers immediately fled the scene.
Avinash was rushed to Wockhardt Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Doctors declared him brought dead.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Raju Bhusari, the Ambazari police have registered a case of murder and launched a full-scale investigation. CCTV footage from the surrounding areas is being scrutinised, and police teams are working to identify and apprehend the culprits.
The incident has raised concerns over rising street crimes in the city, especially involving business owners in popular public areas.
