Nagpur: A man has been taken into custody by New Kamptee Police for causing a serious accident due to rash and negligent driving in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 28.

According to police, around 12:45 am on May 28, complainant Aranju Deorao Wasnik (27), a resident of Ravi Nagar, and his friend Himanshu Ghoshi (Yadav) (24) from Yadav Nagar were riding a motorcycle (MH-40-AV-5737) near Lifeline Hospital in Kamptee.

Suddenly, a speeding three-wheeler (MH-31-BS-3581) driven recklessly by the accused, identified as Videsh Pravin Kakade of Nagpur, rammed into their bike, causing both riders to suffer injuries.

Wasnik, who sustained serious injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at Lifeline Hospital. Based on his statement, a case has been registered against the auto driver under BNS Sections 281, 125(a), and 125(b).
