Nagpur: Daily Wage Worker Stabbed Over Liquor Money Dispute; Accused Arrested by Wathoda Police

Nagpur: A 28-year-old man was arrested by Wathoda Police on charges of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a co-worker following a dispute over liquor money in Ramkrishna Nagar.


According to police, the incident occurred between 8:00 am and 8:30 am on Friday, May 30. The victim, Nainsingh Loksing Parte (31), originally from Bhidechhini, Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh) and currently residing at Mahakalkar Building, Ramkrishna Nagar, Nagpur, lives in the same building as the accused, Santoshkumar alias Bhura Dineshkumar Madavi (28), a resident of Khairi Ugli, Tehsil Keolari, District Seoni (Madhya Pradesh). Both are daily wage labourers working in the Wathoda area.


On May 29, the victim received his wages while the accused had not. Madavi allegedly demanded money for liquor from Parte, who refused. Enraged by the denial, Madavi attacked Parte with a knife, targeting his head, arms, and face with the intent to kill. The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment, where he is currently under medical care.


Following a complaint by the victim, PSI Sachin Thakre registered an offence under Sections 109 and 351(3) of the BNS. The accused has been apprehended and further investigation is underway.
