Nagpur: A theft was reported in the Mankapur area early Friday, May 30 morning, where unidentified miscreants stole gold jewellery worth approximately ₹4.85 lakh from the home of a 79-year-old resident. The incident took place at Plot No. 24, Gadge Baba Society, Mankapur, between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
According to the police, the victim’s wife had left the back door open while stepping out for a morning walk. Taking advantage of the open entry, the accused entered the house and stole gold ornaments from a cupboard in the bedroom.
Based on a complaint filed by Ashok Vasudev Patil (79), Mankapur Police registered an FIR under Section 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and questioning nearby residents.
