Nagpur: Under the Central Government’s PM e-Bus Service, Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s “Aapli Bus” fleet is set to welcome 50 state-of-the-art, fully air-conditioned electric buses. These buses will be inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, February 14 at 12:30 PM, during a special event organized at the Koradi Depot.

Major Step Toward Modern, Sustainable Public Transport
The PM e-Bus initiative is being hailed as a transformative step in modernizing Nagpur’s urban transport system. The new electric buses are expected to significantly improve passenger comfort while accelerating the city’s transition toward green and sustainable mobility.
In the first phase, 50 electric buses have already arrived in Nagpur and are ready for deployment at the depot. In total, 150 electric buses will be inducted into city service in a phased manner under the Central Government program.
Officials emphasized that the introduction of these buses will help reduce carbon emissions and strengthen the vision of a cleaner and greener Nagpur.
Features of the Advanced PM e-Buses
The newly inducted electric buses come with several modern features:
- 9-meter length with comfortable 25+1 seating capacity
- Equipped with Hydraulic e-Ramps to support accessible travel for persons with disabilities
- Capable of covering up to 225 km on just 30 minutes of rapid charging
- Designed for smooth, uninterrupted, and efficient service
- To be deployed across 11 major routes in Nagpur
These buses are expected to significantly enhance the city’s public transport efficiency while ensuring sustainability and commuter convenience.
