Nagpur: In another major success, the Old Kamptee Police have arrested a 19-year-old accused involved in multiple vehicle thefts and recovered two stolen two-wheelers worth ₹1.05 lakh.

During night patrolling, officers spotted an abandoned motorcycle without a number plate at Ruiganj Maidan within their jurisdiction. The vehicle was brought to the police station and deposited in the property room.

On verification, it was found that the bike matched a case reported at Ajni Police Station, where complainant Akshay Anil Chikalwar, 31, stated that his Suzuki Burgman (MH-49-CH-6707), worth ₹55,000, was stolen between January 29 (11:30 PM) and January 30 (7:30 AM) from outside his home in Shubh Nagar.

While probing the case, police received reliable information about the suspect and detained Akash alias Bhurya Nirap Pariyar (19), residing near Ruiganj Maidan in Kamptee. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing the Burgman scooter.

He further admitted to a second theft — a black Bajaj Pulsar (MH-49-CA-5350) — stolen from Vinakar Vasahat, Mane Wada Road, Ajni, Nagpur. Both vehicles have been recovered, adding up to a total seizure of ₹1,05,000.

The arrested accused, along with the seized vehicles, has been handed over to Ajni Police for further legal action. Police stated that more investigations are in progress to determine whether the accused is involved in additional thefts.
