Nagpur: The Imamwada Police of Nagpur have successfully solved two vehicle theft cases after detaining a minor in conflict with the law during patrolling operations.
Between February 2, 2026 (10:00 PM) and February 3, 2026 (12:30 AM), a resident of Rambagh, Imamwada, identified as 37-year-old Aklesh Vijay Wanjari, reported that his Honda Activa (MH-49-AN-0362), worth ₹20,000, was stolen from outside his home at Jayanti Maidan. Based on his complaint, a case under Section 303(2) of the BNS was registered against an unknown accused.
During the investigation, the Unit’s team was patrolling the area when they noticed a suspect riding a brown Honda Activa. When asked to stop, the suspect attempted to flee, but the team chased and apprehended him. Upon enquiry, it was found that he was a minor.
He confessed to stealing the vehicle from Jayanti Maidan. Further interrogation revealed that he had also stolen another grey Honda Activa (MH-49-AW-9322) from Jattarodi, behind Kasturba School, in the Imamwada jurisdiction. Police recovered both stolen vehicles — Activa MH-49-AN-0362 and Activa MH-49-AW-9322 — worth a total of ₹50,000.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Rashmita Rao (Zone 4) and Assistant Commissioner of Police Pradip Sirsat. Officers Jayawant Patil, Ganesh Pawar, Aditya Madavi, Shailesh Thavre, Chandrashekhar Korati, Sandeep Borsare, Ranjit, and Jitendra Choudhary played key roles in the successful detection. Further investigation is underway.
