Nagpur: Holi, the festival of colours, is a time of joy and unity. However, for police personnel, it often means long hours of duty and ensuring public safety instead of celebrating with their families. To change this, Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal organized a special Holi celebration for police officers and their families on March 15, 2025, at the Police Headquarters Ground.
For the first time in Nagpur Police history, officers set aside their duties momentarily to immerse themselves in colors and festivities. The event saw police personnel, their spouses, and children enjoying the festival with gulal, music, and laughter, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Commissioner Singal, along with his wife, actively participated, making the occasion even more memorable.
Just a day earlier, Nagpur Police had worked tirelessly from 5 AM to midnight to maintain law and order during Holi, ensuring a peaceful celebration across the city. After this exhaustive duty, the Holi gathering provided a much-needed opportunity for officers to unwind, replacing batons with colors and stress with smiles.
Senior officials, including Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional Commissioners Sanjay Patil, Shivaji Rathod, and Pramod Shewale, along with DCPs Niketan Kadam, Ashwini Patil, Shweta Khedkar, and Rahul Madne, attended the event. The celebration concluded with light refreshments, leaving officers with cherished memories of the first-ever Holi celebration in Nagpur Police history, an initiative credited to Commissioner Singal.
