Nagpur: Considering the rapid expansion of Kamptee city, a state-of-the-art independent office for the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) will be established to enhance security and streamline operations. The proposed facility will house a control room for all CCTV cameras in Kamptee, a war room, an ACP office, a police station, and designated parking spaces. Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday, March 15, directed officials to ensure the new office is well-equipped and serves as a model facility.
The decision was announced during a meeting at the District Planning Building regarding the second phase of the Kamptee Metro expansion. Present at the meeting were Planning Director Anil Kokate, Metro Project Director Rajeev Tyagi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Niketan Kadam, Sub-Divisional Officer Sachin Gosavi, and other senior officials. The proposal for a new Kamptee Metro Police Station was also discussed.
The DCP office will be constructed as a three-story structure, including a ground floor and two additional floors. Minister Bawankule instructed the metro authorities to allocate funds per their project criteria. The meeting also covered discussions on the proposed expansion of the Kanhan Metro.
10-Story Commercial Complex to Be Built Near Kanhan Metro Station:
To optimize the use of Kamptee Municipal Council’s land and create business opportunities for local traders, a 10-story commercial complex will be developed adjacent to the proposed Kanhan Metro Station. Minister Bawankule emphasized that the plan should include two floors for parking, one for the automobile sector, another for textile markets, a dedicated floor for a vegetable market, and additional spaces for various businesses to generate significant employment opportunities.
He instructed officials to ensure a comprehensive approach while designing the commercial complex to maximize its benefits for local traders and the community.
Construction Workers to Receive Safety Kits in Every Taluka:
The Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Mumbai, is committed to the well-being of laborers. The government has planned to distribute safety kits and essential household items to construction workers at their workplaces.
To avoid confusion between eligible and ineligible beneficiaries, Minister Bawankule directed labor authorities to organize three-day camps in each taluka instead of a single central event. Each eligible worker will receive prior notification via text message regarding the date and time of kit distribution.
Additionally, the minister reviewed land record issues and ordered the Land Records Office to create a fixed schedule for conducting land measurement campaigns at the taluka level to address public complaints promptly.
