Nagpur: Hingna Police have registered a case against a Tata Ace driver for causing a fatal accident on April 12 on the Amravati-Jabalpur Bypass Road near Rajiv Nagar, Wanadongri, Hingna Road.

The victim, Sakir Sabir Hussain (42), a resident of Rajiv Nagar, was riding his Activa (MH 40 VZ 2998) towards the Samruddhi Expressway when a Tata Ace (MH 40 BL 7082), driven recklessly in the wrong direction by Ravindra Shyamrao Shete of Dhangarpura, Hingna, crashed into him head-on. Hussain sustained critical injuries and was admitted to AIIMS Hospital, where he succumbed during treatment on April 15 at 3:19 AM.

Initially registered as an accidental death, the case was converted into a criminal offense based on the complaint filed by Sawan alias Pappu Ramozhi Dhavadwe (39), a resident of Hanuman Nagar, Raipur, Hingna.

Police Sub-Inspector Wasarwar has booked the accused driver under BNS Sections 106(1), 281, and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act.
