Nagpur: A 31-year-old man died while his brother was injured in a hit-and-run accident near Chichbhavan under Beltarodi Police Station limits on Tuesday, April 16 night.

The deceased, Nayan Rathi, was riding an Activa scooter (MH 40 CS 4020) along with his brother Krishna when an unidentified two-wheeler, speeding recklessly, rammed into them and fled the scene. The incident occurred near a bridge on the service road while the duo was returning to Nagpur.

Both victims fell off the scooter due to the impact. While Krishna suffered minor injuries, Nayan sustained serious injuries and was admitted to SIMS Hospital, where he succumbed during treatment the next morning at 11:50 am.

A case was registered at Beltarodi Police Station under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the BNS, and Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, based on the complaint filed by Ankush Shahu (32), a resident of Bapu Nagar.
