Nagpur: Mankapur Police have registered a case against a man accused of defrauding a local resident of ₹3 lakh in a fake investment scheme. The incident occurred between November 14, 2023, and August 26, 2024.

The complainant, Mohammad Riyaz Mohammad Ayaz (31), a resident of Godhni, Mankapur, came in contact with the accused, Mohammad Muzaffar Mohammad Parvez (28) of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, through a relative.

Muzaffar claimed to run an airline ticketing business under “MMR Signal Touch System Pvt. Ltd.” in Delhi and lured Riyaz into investing with promises of ₹9,600 monthly returns. An agreement was even signed on stamp paper.

Initially, the accused paid returns for three months, totaling ₹28,800. However, he later severed all contact and disappeared with the ₹3 lakh investment.

Riyaz filed a complaint with Mankapur Police, and a case has been registered under BNS Section 318(4). Further inquiries are underway.
