Nagpur Crime Branch Busts Counterfeit Apple Product Racket, Seizes Goods Worth ₹2.17 Crore from Sitabuldi, Dhantoli

Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Nagpur Crime Branch conducted two significant raids on December 24, targeting shops accused of selling counterfeit Apple products. The operations resulted in the seizure of fake Apple accessories worth over Rs 2.17 crore and the registration of cases against several accused.


Raid at NGM Mobiles, Dhantoli


Between 5:20 pm and 6:20 pm, the team acted on information provided by Mrunal Maheshchandra Agrawal, the legal advocate for Apple Inc. Agrawal reported that NGM Mobiles, located near Dhanwate Chambers in Dhantoli, was storing and selling counterfeit Apple products bearing the company’s logo and labels.


The raid revealed various fake Apple accessories valued at Rs 59.94 lakh allegedly stocked by the shop owner, identified as Navin Ahmed Shakil Ahmed, for personal financial gain. A case was filed at Dhantoli Police Station under sections 349 of the BNS, 51 and 53 of the Copyright Act, and 103 and 104 of the Trademark Act, based on the complaint.


Raid at Rahul Marketing, Sitabuldi


The second operation took place between 6:30 pm and 11:55 pm at Rahul Marketing in Sitabuldi, where additional counterfeit Apple products were discovered across multiple shops.


Legal advocate Mrunal Maheshchandra Agrawal informed the police about shops storing and selling counterfeit Apple accessories. Raids at seven establishments revealed fake products valued at Rs 1.57 Crore


The accused included:

1. Amit Dilipkumar Israni (Raj Mobiles)

2. Kalyansingh Malsingh (Nagnechi Telecom)

3. Kumari Babu Cover

4. Prajwal Jeevan Jarulkar (Diya Mobiles)

5. Sunil Raheja

6. Jeparam Dewaram Choudhary (Shri Ramdev Mobile Accessories)

7. Rajubhai Choudhary

8. Bhimram Veeraram Choudhary (Chamunda Mobiles)


All accused were charged at Sitabuldi Police Station under similar sections of the IPC, Copyright Act, and Trademark Act.


The operations were conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Maknikar, and Assistant Commissioner Abhijit Patil. The team included Police Inspectors Gajanan Gulhane, Sub-Inspectors Manoj Ghurde, and other personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Cell, who ensured the successful execution of the raids.


Further investigations are underway to curb the sale of counterfeit products in the city.
