Nagpur: In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, District Collector and Election Officer Dr. Vipin Itankar on Tuesday issued a directive encouraging voters to report any non-receipt of poll slips through a dedicated helpline.

The Election Department has appointed 4,631 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to distribute poll slips to each voter’s residence, ensuring that everyone has accurate information about their designated polling station and voter number. If a voter does not receive their slip, they are urged to call the helpline at 7757988898 with their address details.

The assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, and BLOs are required to deliver poll slips to all voters at least 48 hours prior to election day. Dr. Itankar emphasized that this timeline will help ensure that every voter knows their polling location and can participate in the election without confusion.

Strict action will be taken against any BLOs who fail to deliver poll slips to households. Special supervisory teams have been deployed to monitor the distribution process. To register a complaint, voters need to provide their full name, EPIC number, mobile number, constituency name, and full address.

Voters can also access information about their polling station through the Voter Helpline app or the Voter Services Portal using their EPIC number or mobile number.

Both Dr. Itankar and District SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) Nodal Officer Vinayak Mahamuni encouraged voters to embrace the slogan “Your One Vote, Precious Vote” and exercise their right on election day. As part of voter awareness efforts, special provisions have been made for senior citizens over 80 years of age and persons with disabilities, who can vote from home if needed. Essential facilities are being ensured at each polling station to create a comfortable voting experience, with regular monitoring from the Election Commissioner.
