Nagpur: In a significant fraud case under the jurisdiction of Ambazari Police Station, three individuals have been arrested for allegedly embezzling Rs 25-30 lakh from a Nagpur-based shop, Naysa Infotech, owned by Amit Nankaram Chelwani.
Chelwani, a resident of Yash Palace near Jaripatka Police Station, filed a complaint stating that his shop’s manager, Prabhakar Shalikaram Dhole, and two employees, Harshal Krishna Ghagare and Sujit Shriram Khavsi, misappropriated funds from customer payments.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly used their personal QR codes via PhonePe to collect payments from customers into their own accounts. Additionally, they sent unauthorized emails in the shop owner's name, committing financial fraud amounting to approximately Rs 25-30 lakh. Based on the complaint, the Ambazari Police have charged the accused under multiple sections, including 420 (cheating), 408 (criminal breach of trust), and 120(b) (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
Following investigations, Ambazari Police apprehended the three suspects, who confessed to the crime. During the arrests, police seized assets including a four-wheeler, a laptop, two mobile phones, a set of 38 mobile displays, and property documents related to a farm in Karanja, Wardha District. The total value of seized items is estimated at Rs 15,59,700.
The arrests were made under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singhal, Joint Commissioner of Police Nisar Tamboli, and other senior officers. The accused are now in judicial custody, and further investigations are underway.
