Nagpur: In a reported case of burglary, gold ornaments and cash totaling approximately Rs 2.32 lakh were stolen from a locked house in Wathoda. The incident occurred between 12:00 p.m. on November 5 and 1:00 p.m. on November 8, 2024, when the complainant, Roshan Mohan Gedam, aged 43, left his residence secured to visit his native village in Kalsgaon, Chandrapur district, with his family.


Upon returning, Gedam discovered that unknown burglars had broken the main door’s lock at his house, located at Plot No. 39, Kohale Layout, Yogeshwar Nagar, Dighori. The culprits accessed an iron cupboard inside the home and stole gold jewelry along with Rs 2,000 in cash, amounting to a total loss estimated at Rs 2.32 lakh.


Based on Gedam’s complaint, the Wathoda police have registered a case against unknown suspects under Sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305(a) of the BNS. Further inquiries are ongoing.
