Nagpur: In a case of employee theft, police have arrested a 24-year-old worker, Mangesh Ramesh Malkhede, for allegedly stealing electrical wire bundles worth approximately Rs 1,87,500 from HS B Light House located near Ganjakhet Square in Tehsil police jurisdiction.

According to the complaint, Malkhede, a resident of Galli No. 1, Hudco Colony, Mangalwari Bazaar, had been employed at Kisanlal Parpumal Larai’s shop for the past five months. On the evening of November 9, around 7:30 p.m., Malkhede informed Larai that he was stepping out briefly. Suspecting something unusual, Larai decided to check him and discovered a wire bundle hidden at Malkhede’s waist.

Upon further questioning, Malkhede reportedly confessed to having stolen a total of 162 wire bundles of various sizes from the store over the past five months, with the total value estimated at Rs 1.87 lakh.

Following Larai’s complaint, the Tehsil Police Station registered a case against Malkhede under Section 306 of the BNS. Further inquiries are ongoing.
