Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Crime Branch Unit 1 apprehended a 43-year-old man for possession of prohibited tobacco products intended for sale in Pratapnagar area.

According to police sources, on Tuesday, January 21, at around 1:20 PM, police stopped an Activa rider near Himvarsha Apartment in Pandey Layout. The accused, identified as Dinesh Sadhuram Krishnani, a resident of Khamla Sindhi Colony, was found carrying a range of banned flavored tobacco and gutkha products, along with a machine for packing these items. The seized items, including the moped, were valued at approximately ₹1,05,666.

A case was registered against the accused under Sections 123, 223, 274, and 275 of the BNS, along with Section 59 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, at Pratapnagar Police Station. The accused and the seized materials have been handed over to Pratapnagar Police for further investigation.
