Nagpur: In a tragic hit-and-run accident on November 10, a 20-year-old pedestrian, Ganeshkumar Mahadev Mandal, was critically injured by an unidentified motorcyclist near Ram Mandir, on the Ramjhula road, within the Ganeshpeth police jurisdiction. Mandal succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, November 13.
The incident occurred around 9:00 to 9:25 p.m. as Mandal, a resident of Ward No. 6, Kisnipatti village, Ghajardiha Post, Madhubani District (Bihar), was walking along the road. An unidentified motorcyclist, driving recklessly at high speed, struck Mandal and fled the scene.
Bystanders rushed the injured Mandal to Mayo Hospital, and he was later transferred to the Trauma Center at Government Medical College & Hospital for further treatment. Sadly, despite medical efforts, Mandal succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by doctors on November 13 at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Following a complaint from the victim’s father, 54-year-old Mahadev Ramsevak Mandal, Ganeshpeth Police have registered a case against the unknown motorcyclist under BNS Sections 106(1) and 281, along with Motor Vehicle Act Sections 134 and 177.
