Nagpur: Officers from Crime Branch’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) successfully located a 17-year-old girl who went missing from the Kotwali police jurisdiction on November 11. Working off a tip-off and conducting a thorough technical investigation, the AHTU team found the minor on November 13, bringing her safely back to Nagpur. The team also provided her with counseling to ensure her well-being and handed her over to Kotwali Police for further proceedings.
The girl reportedly left her home around 5:30 p.m. on November 11 without informing her family. After a thorough but unsuccessful search, her 50-year-old father filed a complaint, leading Kotwali Police to register a case under Section 137(2) of the BNS on suspicion that an unknown individual might have enticed the minor.
This successful operation was conducted under the leadership of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singhal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The mission was spearheaded by PI Lalita Todase and her AHTU team.
