Nagpur: A 22-year-old worker from Jharkhand, Mohammad Durud Alam, was fatally injured in an accident while unloading decoration materials from a truck at the premises of Hotel Eden Greenz in Old Kamptee, on Tuesday, November 12.
The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. when the truck driver, operating vehicle MH 22 AN 2097, allegedly drove at high speed and recklessly struck a gate pillar, which collapsed and trapped Alam underneath.
Alam, a resident of Narenpura in Sahibganj district, Jharkhand, was immediately taken to Asha Hospital. However, despite medical efforts, he was declared dead shortly after arrival.
Following a complaint from Mukhtar Banaruddin Sheikh, 44, also from Sahibganj, Jharkhand, the police have registered a case against the truck driver, identified as Amrit Singh alias Happy Majorsing Khaira, 24, from Babadeep Singh Nagar, Teka Naka, Kapil Nagar, Nagpur.
The case has been filed under BNS Sections 106 and 281, along with Motor Vehicle Act Sections 184(3) and 181.
