Siddipet, Telangana: A government employee was allegedly killed by his wife following a dispute over property and retirement benefits in Telangana's Siddipet district on Monday, police said.
The victim has been identified as Venkatesham, a Commercial Tax Officer posted in Asifabad. His wife, Rajamani, works as an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM).
According to preliminary information, Venkatesham was due to retire from government service later this month. Police suspect that disagreements over his retirement benefits and property may have led to the fatal attack.
Dispute Turned Violent
Investigators said an argument between the couple escalated on Monday, after which Rajamani allegedly attacked her husband with a heavy stone. Venkatesham sustained serious injuries and later died.
Police reached the residence after receiving information about the incident and took Rajamani into custody shortly afterwards. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
Police Examine Financial and Property Issues
Officials are now looking into the couple's financial affairs, retirement benefits and property related disputes to determine whether these issues triggered the alleged attack.
The exact sequence of events leading up to the incident has not yet been established. Police said further details will emerge as the investigation continues.
