Nagpur: A 16-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed by two unidentified youths while he was walking to buy biryani in Nagpur’s Yashodhara Nagar in the early hours of August 16.
The incident took place between 12.30 am and 12.45 am near Sher-e-Punjab Lawn. According to the complaint, the teenager was on his way to purchase biryani when two youths, believed to be aged around 20 to 22, intercepted him while riding a white Suzuki Access scooter.
The suspects allegedly stopped the boy and questioned him about why he was out so late at night. During the confrontation, one of the youths allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked him on the left side of his waist.
The attackers then allegedly fled the spot on their scooter, leaving the teenager injured.
The boy was taken to Mayo Hospital, where he received medical treatment.
Following the complaint, Yashodhara Nagar police registered a case against the two unidentified suspects under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police have not arrested the accused so far. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area and other available evidence to establish the identities of the suspects and trace the scooter used in the attack.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety of residents, particularly those travelling on the roads during the late-night hours. Police said further investigation is underway.
