Nagpur: As Maharashtra votes today for the Assembly Elections, several businesses in Nagpur, including cafes, restaurants, and clubs, are offering special discounts to encourage voter participation. These “democracy discounts,” ranging from 15-20%, are available to customers who show their inked fingers as proof of voting.
Saheb Singh Arora, Director of Hotel Airport Centre Point and ACP Express Restaurant, shared details of their initiative. “Voting is another way of serving the nation. At ACP Express Restaurant in Sadar, we are offering a 15% discount on dine-in orders for voters. The offer is valid until November 23 to celebrate this democratic event,” he said.
Similarly, Devyani Wadettiwar, Director of Dabo Club and Kitchen, emphasized the importance of participating in elections. “Voting is a powerful constitutional right. To celebrate this, we are offering a 20% discount as part of the Democracy Discount. Every vote matters, and we hope this effort inspires people to be part of the change,” she noted.
Tausif Patel, Director of Cyclone Club, echoed this sentiment, encouraging everyone to vote. “We are offering a 20% discount on food bills to those who show their inked finger. This initiative aims to incentivize voter participation and instill pride in the democratic process, particularly among the youth,” he explained.
These initiatives highlight the creative ways in which local businesses are contributing to fostering a vibrant democracy and encouraging citizens to exercise their right to vote.
