Ranchi, Jharkhand: Thousands of government job aspirants have been protesting in Ranchi for the past 10 days, alleging paper leaks and irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

The protesters have launched an indefinite satyagraha, demanding fresh examinations, the release of OMR sheets and individual scorecards, and a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged irregularities. They say these measures are necessary to ensure transparency and restore confidence in the recruitment process.

Despite the prolonged agitation, the protesters have maintained a peaceful and disciplined approach. During the day, they gather at the protest site to press for their demands, while many spend the nights studying for future examinations. Protesters say they are surviving on basic food items, including biscuits, as they continue their sit-in. Every evening, they also hold torch marches to highlight their concerns.

Many aspirants have expressed frustration over alleged backdoor appointments and what they describe as a lack of transparency in the recruitment process. They argue that repeated controversies have jeopardized the future of deserving candidates seeking government jobs.

The Jharkhand government has assured that appropriate action will be taken. However, the protesters say they are waiting for concrete steps rather than assurances. They have also pointed to what they describe as limited national media coverage of their agitation, despite its scale and duration.

The protest remains ongoing, with the aspirants stating that they will continue their indefinite satyagraha until their demands are addressed.
