Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar Police have registered a case against seven persons allegedly involved in online gambling through the popular Ludo King mobile game by placing cash bets on wins and losses in Nagpur.

According to police, at around 8.15 pm on July 31, 2026, a police patrol and investigation team received specific information that several individuals were gambling by wagering money on Ludo King at a public place near Vandevi Nagar Chowk under the Yashodhara Nagar police station limits.

Acting on the tip-off, police conducted a raid in the presence of panch witnesses and caught the accused allegedly playing the game on their mobile phones with cash stakes.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Kalam Abdul Karim (44), Sheikh Ashfaq Sheikh Gafur (54), Sheikh Akram Sheikh Usman (44), Sheikh Mohsin Sheikh Khwaja (36), Sheikh Ayub Sheikh Gaffar Qureshi (37), Mohammad Shahid Alam Mohammad Istiyaq Alam (44), and Karim Shah Salam Shah (26).

During the operation, police seized ₹2,200 in cash, a framed Ludo game print, and seven mobile phones, collectively valued at ₹52,390.

A case has been registered against all seven accused under Section 12 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act at Yashodhara Nagar Police Station. Further investigation is underway.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Nityanand Jha (Zone 5) and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rohit Ovhal (Kalamna Division). The raid was led by Senior Police Inspector Yunus Sheikh along with police personnel Ganesh Gupta, Amol, Laxman Padwal, and Ritesh Dudhe.
