Nagpur. Pratapnagar Police have registered a case against a builder for allegedly cheating a 66-year-old woman of Rs 8.93 crore in a fraudulent flat development scheme in Swavalambi Nagar, Nagpur.
The complainant, Nalini Satishchandra Bute, a resident of Pavanbhumi, near Manish Nagar, Wardha Road, Somalwada, Nagpur, had inherited a plot of land located at Khasra No. 91/1, Sheet No. 44, House No. 4196/A, in Swavalambi Nagar within the jurisdiction of Pratapnagar Police Station. Intending to develop a flat scheme on the property, she entered into an agreement with the accused builder, Shashank Govindprasad Pandey (54), proprietor of Prayagraj Developers and a resident of Plot No. 8/4, Sunder Apartment, near TB Ward, Ajni, Nagpur.

However, between July 30, 2015, and January 31, 2024, the accused completed the construction but failed to deliver the promised flats to the complainant. Instead, he allegedly breached the agreement and sold the flats to other buyers without her consent.
