Nagpur: A 38-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding Aapli bus in the Kapil Nagar police station area of Nagpur.
The accident occurred at around 11.30 am on April 30 near Automotive Square on Kamptee Road.
Police said the deceased, identified as Yogesh Gajanan Kawale (38), resident of Kamna Nagar, Kalamna, was walking on the road when a Star City bus (MH-40-BL-3841) coming from Tekanaka Chowk towards Kamptee Road allegedly rammed into an electric vehicle first and then hit the pedestrian.
The impact dragged Yogesh on the road, causing severe injuries.
He was rushed to Hope Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
Following a complaint lodged by Mangesh Gajanan Kawale (42), police registered a case against bus driver Devanand Rammilan Khaisi (49), resident of Chintamani Nagar, Kalamna, under sections related to causing death by negligence, rash driving and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Further investigation is underway.
