Nagpur RPF Seizes Goa Whisky from Woman Smuggler at Katol Railway Station

Nagpur, March 11: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nagpur Post and Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) Nagpur successfully intercepted a liquor smuggling attempt at Katol Railway Station under Operation Satark. Authorities seized 50 bottles of Goa Whisky (750 ml), valued at ₹27,250.


During the operation, RPF personnel identified two suspects disembarking from Train No. 61120 Amla-Nagpur MEMU. Upon inspecting their baggage, officials found a woman carrying 20 bottles of liquor worth ₹10,900, while her male accomplice had 30 bottles worth ₹16,350.


Both individuals were apprehended and handed over to the State Excise Department, Nagpur for legal proceedings. Cases were registered under Section 65(E) of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, listed as Crime No. 77/2025 and Crime No. 78/2025.


The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Inspector, Crime Intelligence Branch, Nagpur, with support from RPF Nagpur Post officials and Head Constable staff.


The team included Jasveer SinghVikas KumarDharmendra SinghDeepak LathwalAshish KumarMohanlal Devangan, and Lady Constable Kavita Kupale, who played a crucial role in the operation’s success.


The Railway Administration urges passengers to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the RPF Helpline at 139.
