Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch Unit 1 raided Texas Smoke Shop in Yashoda Nagar, MIDC, on Monday, March 10 evening, seizing a stockpile of banned e-cigarettes valued at ₹2 lakh.

During the operation conducted at around 7:40 PM, police apprehended Navin Vijay Khandelwal (28), a resident of Dattatraya Nagar, Hudkeshwar, for illegally stocking and selling flavored e-cigarettes for profit.

The seized items included various flavored e-cigarettes that are banned under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act.

A case has been registered at MIDC Police Station under sections 4, 5, 7, and 8 of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act. The accused and the confiscated items were handed over to MIDC police for further action.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The raid was executed by PI Amol Deshmukh and his team.
