Nagpur: Passengers travelling between Nagpur and Pune on the Nagpur-Pune Express are likely to face changes in their journey plans on August 23 as Central Railway will undertake yard upgradation work at Pune.
The Pune Division of Central Railway will carry out infrastructure work involving a nine-hour traffic and power block from 8 am to 5 pm on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Due to the block, the Nagpur-Pune-Nagpur Express services will be temporarily curtailed.
According to Central Railway, Train No. 12136 Nagpur-Pune Express, which commenced its journey from Nagpur on August 22, will be short-terminated at Hadapsar (HDP) instead of Pune station.
Similarly, Train No. 12135 Pune-Nagpur Express, scheduled to commence its journey on August 23, will originate from Hadapsar at 5:45 pm instead of Pune station.
The changes have been necessitated by the yard upgradation work being undertaken to improve the safety, reliability and operational efficiency of train services at Pune Yard.
Passengers travelling to or from Pune have been advised to take note of the revised arrangements and plan their journeys accordingly. Railway authorities have also urged passengers to check the latest train running status and updated schedules before leaving for the station through the official Indian Railways enquiry portal or the NTES (National Train Enquiry System) app.
Central Railway has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers and said the infrastructure work is essential for improving railway operations at Pune.
