Nagpur: In a late-night operation, Unit 1 of the Nagpur Crime Branch arrested four individuals, including three from Telangana, for possessing and distributing 1.792 kg of ganja between the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The suspects — Michael Jacob Harry Anthony (32), Saikumar Kashipatti Anutulla (32), and Deepak Narendra Katti (23) — were spotted near Metro Pillar No. 113 between Chhatrapati Square and Coca-Cola Square in Pratapnagar. A bag containing ganja was found in their possession.
Upon interrogation, the accused revealed they had sourced the ganja from a Nagpur-based dealer, Mohammad Sadiq Mohammad Rauf (43), who was also arrested later.
Police seized the drugs, three mobile phones, and a bag — estimated at ₹92,360. The case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 20(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act at Pratapnagar Police Station.
This anti-narcotics action was carried out under the supervision of Jt. CP Vasant Pardeshi, DCP Rahul Makanikar, ACP Abhijeet Patil, and was led by PI Amol Deshmukh and PSI Sachin Bhonde.
