Nagpur: In a major crackdown under the PITA Act, the Crime Branch’s Social Security Branch (SSB) of Nagpur Police on Wednesday rescued a Russian woman from a suspected sex trafficking racket operating out of Hotel Paradise, located on CA Road under Tehsil Police Station limits.
The action took place between 5:30 PM on July 2 and 1:55 AM on July 3, 2025, at Room No. 403 on the fourth floor of the hotel.
The police registered an FIR under Sections 143(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. The case has been registered as Crime No. 449/2025 at Tehsil Police Station.

Arrested Accused:
- Rashmi Anand Khatri (49), resident of Plot No. 65, Govindgad, near Shanti Niketan College, Uppalwadi, Kamptee Road, Nagpur.
Wanted Accused:
- Krishnakumar alias Radhe Deshraj (still absconding).
Seized Items:
- DVR system worth approx. ₹3,000
- Condom packet worth ₹10
- Cash ₹5,500
- Realme mobile phone worth approx. ₹15,000
- Narzo mobile phone worth approx. ₹15,000
- Register book on counter table worth ₹500
Total seizure amounts to ₹39,010.
Rescue and Legal Action:
During the raid, police successfully rescued one Russian national, who was allegedly a victim of human trafficking. After conducting her medical examination, she was handed over to Tehsil Police along with all relevant documents and seized materials for further investigation.
The arrested woman, Rashmi Khatri, was issued a notice and released as per legal procedure.
