Nagpur: Tension gripped the HB Town area on Friday night after a college gang rivalry turned deadly, resulting in the brutal murder of a 22-year-old student in full public view under the jurisdiction of Pardi Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as Noor Nawaz Hussain (22), a resident of Subhash Nagar. According to police sources, the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two student groups of a local college. In an attempt to resolve the issue, both groups agreed to meet near Umang Saoji, HB Town, on Friday night.

However, the meeting took a violent turn as a heated argument broke out between the rival groups. In the ensuing chaos, Hussain was allegedly stabbed multiple times, leading to his death on the spot. The assault, witnessed by bystanders, sent shockwaves through the locality.

Acting swiftly, the Pardi Police detained a suspect identified as Kamleshwar Bhisen in connection with the murder. The police are now questioning him to identify other individuals involved in the attack.

Senior officials reached the scene shortly after the incident, and the body was sent for postmortem examination. Meanwhile, a case of murder under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered, and a manhunt has been launched to trace other accused.

Police sources said preliminary findings point to college rivalry and personal enmity as the motive behind the fatal assault. Further investigations are underway.
