Nagpur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nagpur unit, on Thursday trapped a senior officer of the Water Resources Department for allegedly demanding a 2 percent bribe commission to release pending contractor bills and approve fresh tenders. The accused officer was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting Rs 70,000 inside his office chamber in Nagpur.
The accused has been identified as Ravindra Nilkanthrao Wankhede, a Class-I officer serving as Superintending Engineer in the Mechanical Circle of the Water Resources Department.
