Nagpur: Sadar police have registered a case against a 28-year-old doctor from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly establishing physical relations with a 27-year-old woman repeatedly since 2024 on the false promise of marriage.
The accused has been identified as Sanjay Sudhir Vishwas, 28, a doctor and resident of Bichhua in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh.
According to the complaint, the woman and the accused became acquainted through Facebook. The woman alleged that Vishwas subsequently promised to marry her and, on that assurance, allegedly established physical relations with her repeatedly from 2024.
The complainant reportedly confronted the accused about marriage. However, instead of agreeing to marry her, he allegedly told her that he did not intend to marry her and threatened her, according to the complaint.
The alleged incidents took place between September 1, 2024, and September 23, 2026, at a rented residence in the Sadar area, police said. The woman subsequently approached the police and lodged a complaint.
Based on her statement, Sadar police registered a case under Sections 69 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police are conducting further investigation into the allegations.
