Nagpur: An unidentified thief allegedly stole four air-conditioner compressors worth ₹80,000 from the exterior wall of a house in the Buddhanagar area of Tekanaka under Pachpaoli police station limits.

The complainant, Surjeet Kaur Charan Singh Patwali, 57, a resident of Plot No. 509 in Buddhanagar, had left for Punjab with her family on June 17 at around 4 pm. She returned home on July 14 at around 4 am.

After returning, the woman switched on an air conditioner but found that it was not functioning and no air was coming from it. She subsequently checked the AC compressors installed on the exterior wall of her house.

She allegedly found that three LG AC compressors and one Godrej AC compressor were missing. The total value of the stolen compressors was estimated at ₹80,000, with the three LG units valued at ₹60,000 and the Godrej compressor at ₹20,000.

Suspecting that an unidentified person had stolen the compressors while the family was away, the woman approached Pachpaoli police and lodged a complaint.

Police have registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
