Nagpur: Nandanvan police have registered a case against an unidentified driver who allegedly fired a shot into the air from a firearm while travelling in a moving car near Hasanbag Chowk in Nagpur early Wednesday.
According to the complaint, the incident took place around 1.30 am on October 1 near DL Motors at Hasanbag Chowk. The complainant, Abid Khan Mohammad Khan (48), a resident of Hasanbag, was riding his two-wheeler home when he noticed a Creta car bearing registration number MH 49 DA 3399 approaching from the opposite direction.
As the car passed him, the driver allegedly extended his hand through the window and fired a shot into the air using a firearm. The driver then allegedly sped away towards Hasanbag Chowk.
Based on Khan’s complaint, PSI Nilesh Dalvi registered a case against the unidentified Kia driver under Sections 3, 25 and 27(1) of the Arms Act, along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
Nandanvan police have launched a search for the accused driver and are conducting further investigation into the incident.
