Man Injured After Objecting to Objectionable Remarks About Sister, Her Friend in Nagpur; Three Booked

Nagpur: A 25-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and injured after confronting three men who made objectionable remarks about his sister and her friend in the MIDC police station limits of Nagpur.


According to the FIR, the incident took place at around 10.30 pm on August 4 near Patel Kirana Store, close to Shahu Aata Chakki in Sangharsh Nagar, Jaitala. The complainant was sitting with his sister and her friend when an acquaintance, identified as Aniket, arrived at the spot along with two associates.


Police said the trio allegedly passed objectionable comments about the two women, triggering an argument. When the complainant questioned their behaviour, the accused allegedly abused him and assaulted him with fists and kicks. During the attack, one of Aniket’s associates allegedly picked up a stone lying nearby and struck the complainant on the head, leaving him injured.


The victim was rushed to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where he received medical treatment. Based on his complaint, MIDC Police registered a case against Aniket and his two unidentified associates.


An offence has been registered under Sections 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means), 296 (obscene acts/words in public), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
