Nagpur: In a significant development for Maharashtra’s hospitality sector, the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced plans to build a new Taj Hotel in Nagpur. The decision came promptly after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made a formal request during a ceremony held in Mumbai on Monday, February 10.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, confirmed the expansion, marking a new milestone for the Taj brand in Mumbai and beyond. Chhatwal highlighted the company’s commitment to growth and hinted at upcoming projects in Sindhudurg and Nagpur.

Alongside the Taj Hotel, IHCL will also establish a second Ginger Hotel in Nagpur. The city already hosts one Ginger property, and the new addition will provide guests with more accommodation options. Both hotels are expected to boost tourism and cater to the growing demand for premium hospitality services in the region.

Expressing gratitude to IHCL, CM Fadnavis praised the Taj Group for its contributions to the hospitality industry. “The Taj Hotel will not only enhance the city’s charm but also bring world-class services to the people of Nagpur,” he stated.

This expansion underscores IHCL’s commitment to Maharashtra’s development and signals promising growth for Nagpur’s hospitality landscape.
