Nagpur: A 50-year-old man, previously externed from Nagpur city and rural areas, was apprehended near Naresh Pan Stall in Shantinagar on Friday, January 3, 2025.

According to sources, Shantinagar Police were patrolling the area and verifying the presence of externed individuals when they received reliable information about Sirajul Haq, a resident of Lalanagar, Shantinagar Ghat, roaming near the pan stall. Upon spotting the police, Haq attempted to flee but was swiftly captured.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Haq had been externed for three months starting November 12, 2024, by an order from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 3. His presence in the area without authorization violated the externment order.

A case under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered against him at Shantinagar Police Station. Further investigations are underway.
