Nagpur: A 74-year-old man died after suffering a medical emergency while swimming at the NIT Swimming Pool in Ambazari, Nagpur, on Friday morning.

According to police, the deceased, Jayant Narayan Kawre, a resident of Flat No. 6/30, Prakash Apartment, Atre Layout, had gone for a routine swim around 9:45 AM on July 11. While swimming, he suddenly fell ill and was immediately pulled out of the pool by bystanders.

He was rushed to Wockhardt Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead after examination.

Based on the information provided by Sanjay Vishwanath Kargutkar (62), a resident of H.B. Estate, Sonegaon, an accidental death report has been registered at Bajaj Nagar Police Station under the supervision of Police Constable Gajbhiye.

Further investigation is underway.
