36-Year-Old Biker Dies After Being Hit by Speeding Ritz Car Near Khaparkheda

Nagpur: A 36-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries after being allegedly hit by a speeding car driving on the wrong side of the road near Khaparkheda in Nagpur district.


According to police, Ashwin Anandrao Gajbhiye (36), a resident of Ward No. 2, Khaparkheda in Saoner taluka, was riding his Honda Unicorn motorcycle (MH-40-CK-8173) from Bhanegaon towards Khaparkheda at around 8.30 pm on June 1, 2026.


When he reached near Maharashtra Vidyalaya within the jurisdiction of Khaparkheda Police Station, a Maruti Suzuki Ritz car (MH-31-EK-9849) allegedly came from the opposite direction at high speed and was being driven rashly and negligently. The vehicle reportedly collided head-on with Gajbhiye’s motorcycle.


The victim sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Max Hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment and was declared dead by doctors at 12.36 pm on July 2, 2026.


Based on a complaint lodged by his father, Anandrao Chandrabhan Gajbhiye (66), Khaparkheda Police have registered a case against the car driver under Sections 106(1), 281 and 125(B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is underway.
