Nagpur: In a bizarre incident that has sparked outrage across social media, a Maharashtra State Transport (ST) bus conductor allegedly threatened a citizen after being confronted for throwing garbage out of a moving bus on Wardha Road. The incident, which occurred near Jaiprakash Nagar Metro Station, has raised serious questions about public sanitation, civic discipline, and accountability within public transport services.
According to reports, Aayush Nevatia, a law-abiding citizen, was travelling in his car when he noticed someone in an ST bus (registration MH 40 CM 3189) dumping trash onto the road while the vehicle was in motion. Concerned by the blatant violation of cleanliness norms, Aayush drove alongside the bus to identify the responsible individual.
To his surprise, the person discarding the garbage was not a passenger but the female ST bus conductor herself.
When Aayush confronted her about the unhygienic and illegal act, the conductor reportedly justified her actions, arguing that there was “no place to dump garbage inside the bus.” As the argument escalated, the conductor allegedly threatened Ayush, claiming she would file a complaint against him.
The video of the confrontation quickly went viral on social media, triggering widespread criticism from citizens demanding strict action against the conductor and improved waste management protocols within public transport vehicles.
Civic activists and local residents have called on transport authorities to investigate the matter and enforce disciplinary measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Many have emphasized that public servants should lead by example in maintaining cleanliness, especially under initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
As the video continues to circulate online, netizens are urging officials to address the incident promptly and ensure accountability within the ST department.
