Nagpur: A 29-year-old man lost his life in a fatal road accident after the car he was driving rammed into a road divider and collided head-on with a truck near Dahegaon Rangari under the jurisdiction of Khaparkheda Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as Nikhil Sanjay Chakole (29), a resident of Walni Vasti in Khaparkheda. The accident occurred between 12.30 am and 12.45 am on Sunday near Sunrise Hotel.

According to police, Nikhil was driving vehicle number MH-40-CH-4765 at high speed in a rash and negligent manner when he lost control over the vehicle. The car first hit the road divider and crossed to the opposite lane before crashing head-on into a truck bearing registration number CG-07-VZ-8893 coming from the Saoner side.

Nikhil sustained severe injuries in the collision. He was rushed to Max Hospital by police personnel, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

Based on a complaint filed by Akshay Kothiram Chaudhary (27), a resident of Walni Vasti, Khaparkheda police registered a case under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
