Nagpur: A 29-year-old painter died after accidentally falling from an iron ladder while carrying out painting work at a house in Mahal area under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station.

The incident occurred around 8.30 am on May 18 at a house located on Tilak Road near Gandhi Gate in Mahal. The deceased has been identified as Devendra Dhaniram Chaudhary (29), originally from Manevada Juni Vasti and currently staying on rent at the residence of Mayur Ghate in Nagpur.

Police said Devendra had arrived for painting work at the residence of house owner Sagar Arun Jogi (42). While standing on an iron ladder placed midway on the staircase for painting work, he reportedly lost balance and fell to the ground, suffering serious injuries.

Co-workers immediately shifted him to Medical Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.

Following information lodged by Yogesh Fagulal Chandrekar (28), a resident of Mahalakshmi Nagar, Ajni, Kotwali Police registered an accidental death case. Further investigation is in progress.
