Wadi Police Seize 150 Liters of Illicit Country Made Liquor, One Arrested in Nagpur

Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, Wadi Police intercepted a suspect on a Honda Activa near Apollo Tyres godown on Bondaala-Lava Road and uncovered 150 liters of illicit country-made liquor valued at ₹22,500 here, on Monday, December 2.


The incident occurred around 10:30 am when the police stopped the Activa rider for questioning. The suspect identified himself as Gokul Chandrashekhar Wankhade, 25, a resident of Chintamani Nagri, Bhivsenkhori, Gittikhadan, Nagpur. Upon searching a white plastic bag in his possession, police found the liquor being transported illegally.


During interrogation, Wankhade admitted he was transporting the liquor for illegal sale with the assistance of an accomplice named Biswa, a resident of Gondkhairi.


The police seized the 150 liters of liquor along with the Honda Activa (MH 31 FK 1272), amounting to a total value of ₹57,500. A case has been registered at Wadi Police Station under Section 65(E) of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act. Investigations are underway to trace the accomplice and further details about the operation.
