Nagpur: Swift action by Unit 4 of the Crime Branch led to the arrest of two burglars involved in a housebreaking incident reported in Beltarodi. The accused have been identified as Sohel Iqbal Qureshi (22), a resident of Hudkeshwar, and Mohammad Ayan alias Golu Mohammad Abid (19), residing near Golden Masjid, Hudkeshwar, Nagpur.

According to police, between June 30 and July 6, 2025, complainant Manda Padmakar Kukde (63), a resident of Sanket Nagari, Beltarodi, had locked her home and gone to Pune. During her absence, unidentified thieves broke open the main door lock and stole gold and silver ornaments worth ₹36,150. A case was initially registered under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the IPC at Beltarodi Police Station.

During parallel investigations, the Crime Branch team obtained reliable intelligence and detained the two suspects, who later confessed to the crime. Police seized cash worth ₹1,500 and stolen ornaments valued at ₹33,000 from their possession. Both have been handed over to Beltarodi Police for further legal action.

The operation was executed under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar Singhal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The team included PI Kamalakar Gaddime, API Vaibhav Barange, and constables Nazir Shaikh, Yuvnanda, Satish, Purushottam, Abhishek, Prakash, Mahesh, and Laxman.
